FTC sues Hims & Hers over alleged health-data disclosures
On 29 July 2026, the Federal Trade Commission and state partners announced a lawsuit against Hims & Hers alleging that the telehealth provider disclosed sensitive health information to advertising platforms despite promises to protect patient privacy. The complaint also challenges billing and cancellation practices.
The FTC alleged that customer lists and tracking technologies transmitted health information, including through website events, to companies such as Meta and Snap. The FTC case record lists the case as pending as of this brief's 6 November 2026 review. These remain allegations for the court to decide.
Digital-health privacy teams can use the case to review tracking events, audience uploads and privacy disclosures together. Testing what information leaves intake and treatment journeys can reveal whether advertising integrations match the promises made to patients.
