Ontario IPC updates De-identification Guidelines for Structured Data

As privacy risks and regulations evolve, so must the guidelines offered to companies and individuals. The Information and Privacy Commissioner of Ontario (IPC) published revised “De-identification Guidelines for Structured Data” to support organisations that wish to share or use data sets safely while protecting individual privacy. 

The not-legally-binding guidance outlines how to address various risks, apply data protection techniques, document processes, and more. This update reflects the worldwide drive to enable responsible data use without compromising privacy. Organisations everywhere must examine their de-identification practices, making this document inspiring to all.
