Israel's "Do Not Call" Registry

The Israeli legislature, or the knesset, enacted an amendment to the Consumer Protection Law in which the Consumer Protection Authority will establish a registry in which consumers can indicate that they wish to opt-out of telemarketing calls. Marketers who call numbers listed in the registry will face significant fines and class actions. Israel joines more  than 30 countries, including Australia, Canada, Ireland, Italy, Mexico, New Zealand, Singapore, the U.K. and the US, who limit marketing calls with government opt-out registries.
